Geetha Matriculation Higher Secondary School is a humble, purpose-driven institution serving the low-income community of Saidapet, Chennai. Operated on a non-profit basis by a charitable trust registered under Sections 12A and 80G, the school receives no government or external funding-yet remains deeply committed to delivering meaningful, affordable education to those who need it most.

Our Story
In 1975, a modest nursery school with just a few children and a bold vision took root in Saidapet, Chennai. Today, that vision thrives as Geetha Matriculation Higher Secondary School—a vibrant institution empowering nearly 350 students from Pre-KG to Class 12.

By 1988, we had grown into a full-fledged higher secondary school, driven by a simple but powerful belief: every child deserves access to quality education, regardless of background.
Many of our students come from low-income families. For many, we are their first classroom, their first chance, their first hope. We nurture first-generation learners into confident, compassionate individuals—fluent in English, rich in values, and equipped with life skills that transcend textbooks.

The Management
Leadership with Vision, Education with Purpose
Founded in 1975 by the late Mr. G. Bhaskaran, Geetha Matriculation Higher Secondary School was built on a simple yet powerful mission: to make quality education accessible to every child. For over three decades, he led with integrity, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to uplifting the underserved through learning.
Since 2008, the school has been guided by Mr. B. Ramesh—an electronics engineer by training, an educator by calling. With over 20 years of experience in personal training and child development, he brings a rare blend of technical expertise and deep human insight to school leadership.
Under his stewardship, Geetha Matric HSS has embraced inquiry-based, student-centered learning—moving beyond rote memorization to ignite curiosity, critical thinking, and confidence. As a core member of ThinQ (www.ThinQ.education), a national initiative promoting inquiry-oriented education, he champions the belief that transformative learning can be delivered affordably and meaningfully, even with modest resources.
